The quality and expertise have been the main characteristics of DALEKOVOD ever since it was founded in 1949. Back then the core business of the company was production, construction and erection of transmission lines, switchgears and substations. By employing young experts and by constantly investing in the training of its staff and by adopting new technologies and tools DALEKOVOD managed to extend its scope of activities. In the course of the years, DALEKOVOD has, besides construction and erection of high voltage and low voltage power transmission and distribution projects, extended its range of activities to include design, production and construction of railway infrastructure, sports facilities, halls, antenna masts, provision of electric power equipment for roads, etc.
Today DALEKOVOD is a large-scale sophisticated company that fulfils the needs of its customers by offering high quality products and services pursuant to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards. The professional skills of 1,527 employees range from fitters, tool pushers, machinists and turners to graduated civil, electrical, mechanical and traffic engineers. They are organised in teams that are specialised in carrying out the most demanding projects. By using the most sophisticated equipment DALEKOVOD offers engineering, production and construction services of the following:
- Power transmission and distribution projects, especially transmission lines from 0.4kV to 1000kV,
- Substations of all types and voltage levels up to 500kV,
- Overhead, underground and underwater cables up to 110 kV,
- Telecommunication facilities,
- All types of networks and antennas,
- Production of suspension and jointing equipment for all types of transmission lines and substations from 0.4kV to 500kV,
- Fabrication and Installation of all metal segments for roadways, especially for road lighting, guard rails and traffic signalization,
- Tunnel lighting and traffic management,
- Electrification of railway and tramway lines in cities.
In 1993 DALEKOVOD was transformed into a shareholding company.
In 2000 DALEKOVOD implemented ESOP program for employee shareholding whereby more than 60% of employees participated.
In 2001 listing of regular share for DALEKOVOD d.d. began on the Zagreb Stock Exchange under the designation of DLKV-R-A.
In 2003 the factory named Dalekovod Cinčaonica d.o.o. was commissioned.
In 2004 DALEKOVOD became a major owner of the Tvornica dalekovodnih stubova i konstrukcija a.d. from Doboj, Bosnia-Herzegovina under the tile of Dalekovod TKS Doboj. The factory has a capacity of over 10,000 tones of various structures annually.
In 2005 the new company UNIDAL d.o.o. for the production of forged steel began operation in Vinkovci. Founded as a result of common investment by DALEKOVOD and UNIOR from Slovenia, the company manufactures around 3,000 tones of forged products annually, for the automobile and electrical power industry.
In 2007 DALEKOVOD has performed a new acquisition by the purchase of shares totalling 88.65% of TIM d.d. Expanded metals factory in Topusko, with a capacity of over 10,000 tones of steel products annually.
In 2007 the design process is carried out in a separated company Dalekovod Projekt d.o.o.
2009 there have been 2.293.812 regular stocks of Dalekovod available for trade on the Official Zagreb Stock Exchange Market
