Dalekovod won the contract of Constructing a 400kV Transmission Line Tirana - Podgorica

to construct the 400kV transmission line between Tirana and Podgorica and the associated conductor fields based on a turn-key-solution.
Dalekovod has thereby gained one of the significant projects based on a turn-key-solution amongst very strong international competition.
The technically demanding project consists of aerial double OHL 400kV lines with a length of 76.14m, and a single system aerial 400kV line amounting to 80.80km. Besides the transmission lines, this project covers also the construction of one 400kV conductor field in the existing 400/210kV Elbasan 2 substation, and two conducting 400kV fields in the 400/220kV Podgorica 2 substation.
Due to the projects complexity, and upon demand by potential contractors, three times the bidding deadline was extended, so that bids were officially submitted 11/09/2006.
After opening the bids, it was deemed that only two companies expressed interest, the joint bid by the German and Slovakian company SAG and ELEKTROVOD I DALEKOVOD d.d. Zagreb, who had offered to undertake all works based on turn-key-solution to the amount of 42 million euros.
Evaluation of the bids along with an extension of the deadline lasted until the end of April of 2007, despite an unreasonable higher bid by our competitor. The consultant company Fichtner invited Dalekovod to attend final negotiations relating to the conclusion of the Contract in the period between 22nd and 25th of May 2007, which resulted in successful outcome.
Concerning works in the field, local companies will be used for performing construction works on the foundation and earthing, while the assembly of pylons and electrical installation works will optimally include highly qualified workers, machinery and equipment supplied by Dalekovod.
The contract is to be signed by the start of July 2007 following the acquisition of necessay guarantees, while the project is to be undertaken in 24 month period starting from the date of the advance payment.
