Delivering materials for several transmission lines in Norway

In an international competition between three companies remaining after pre-qualifiers, Dalekovod d.d. was selected for the job of delivering lattice steel structures for the 420 kV Sima - Samnanger transmission line in Norway, with a total length of 90 km and with 278 pylons.
The specified towers will be installed within the most attractive and the most famous fjord near Bergen (west Norway).

The Client is Statnett, Norwegian transmission system national operator. There are plans for eight convoys with materials, and delivery is planned to be completed in November 2011.

A public call for tenders for the installation of the specified transmission line will be published sometime in the spring of this year, and we at Dalekovod d.d. feel reasonably qualified to be selected for that job as well.

It should not go without mentioning that Dalekovod d.d. emerged on that market more than five years ago by delivering materials and carrying out works related to installation of transmission towers. Because of demanding ecologic requirements-norms, a part of towers will be protected in a specific way according to the ecologically acceptable norms and ICAO standards for aviation signalling.

It is necessary to point out that Norway pays particular attention to high HSE standards already in the production stage (safety, environmental protection and health). Along those lines, Dalekovod d.d. had to pass quite a demanding pre-qualifier which entailed the control of all technological production procedures as well as installation works at the very site. This operation represents a significant step forward of Dalekovod d.d. on an extremely challenging Norwegian and Scandinavian market, due to the high criteria for meeting the requirements of quality, ecologic and safety standards and works, especially with regard to the fact that the selection of supplier implies verifying all technical details so that investors could be absolutely positive that the selected supplier would be able to meet all requirements.

It should not go without saying that two years ago Dalekovod d.d. developed and concluded a pilot project with intention to expand on the entire Scandinavian market for approximately 60 towers for the OCAS Company, which are used for newly-installed radars on fjords' edges to prevent aircrafts from colliding into conductors when flying over.

Dalekovod d.d was also selected for the job of delivering 25 towers for the 52 kV STRUPE - ISEBAKKE transmission line, also in Norway. The job is not financially very abundant, but it is important to point out that the towers used come from a new generation of towers for this voltage category, entirely in accordance with European standards and EU directives.
