New job in Norway - construction of a 420 kV Sauda-Liastolen transmission line

Dalekovod d.d. participated in the international tender for construction of a 420 kV Sauda-Liastolen transmission line, and among a very strong competition with several renowned companies it was selected to perform the job. on the new 30 km of transmission line.
We would like to point out that the transmission line is planned to cross the area of Norway with extremely severe continental climate which is influenced by unstable climatic conditions from the Atlantic. The transmission line's construction will be carried out by means of helicopters, which is a standard method of constructing transmission lines in Norway, where both environmental protection norms and safety norms in such operations are extremely demanding. With regard to weather conditions and an extremely short available period for construction (between March and October), the works will begin in mid March 2010 and are expected to be completed in June 2011.
The purpose of this transmission line is to increase the overall power capacity in order to respond to increasing consumption of electric energy and to increase reliability of power delivery to consumers. The works are estimated at 12.000.000 EUR.
The construction of a 420 kV Sauda-Liastolen transmission line is a project in continuation of a large investment cycle that was initiated several years ago by the Norwegian company Statnett, which will soon result in another tender for the construction of two additional 420 kV transmission lines: the first one is Sima - Samnanger with 90 km in length and the other is Orskog - Faldal with 270 km in length.
We would like to point out that we at Dalekovod d.d. confirmed to Statnett our interest in participating in future tenders for construction of the specified power structures, with the objective of long-term presence on this financially attractive, but also very challenging market where quality, reliability and confidence are top priorities among partners.
