Dalekovod Mountainering Association Dalekovod
Perhaps it is difficult to understand, but in the period when the Dalekovod Mountainainering Association was forming (1980s), it seemded to be more productive to spend free time with friends, taking walks in the mountains and hills, breathing the fresh air and singing mountaineer songs, rather than siting in stuffy coffee shops and bars, or worse still, taking drugs which had in those years begun to take rife amongst the young.
Hence, a group of enthusiasts in the 1980s, or better said, visionaries, nature lovers and those wanting to socialize, had decided to give their free time a new thought, and form the Dalekovod mountaineer association.
It was difficultto understand such people, the mountaineers, besides holding good painting exhibitions, good theatre predstave or good movies, they liked to sleep in tents in the untouched wild nature, whose purity alone is an experience for the soul and body. They themselves had no idea how the association would evolve.
Today, it is a respected mountaineer association, with an attractive and tested work program and above all else socially friendly members, with more and more young people joining its ranks.
It is certain that the Association will in the years to come develop its program even more by activating new sections, above all else ecological, as well as alpinistic and speleologic, which represents a challenge to new, young association members.
Since love towards nature is one of the main motivation of the mountaineers, global warming and other disturbances in nature particularly affect the mountaineers. This leads all members of the mountaineer association to behave in an optimally responsible manner towards nature and to initiate action for raising ecological awareness of all people, mountaineers and those who are not.
